Fleas, ticks, mosquitoes AND pesticides »

master_of_his_home I’m forever relieved that my humans don’t use these pesticides on me, WOOF! I’m very glad I get a truly holistic approach to my care but don’t buy into the buzzword of “holistic” – look it up in your dictionary so you know what it means, truly means. And then apply that knowledge. I have a LOT of information to help you get your minds wrapped around the fact that these so-called “preventatives” are nothing short of poison humans. And you should know that poison is good for one thing: killing. I’m reaching out to you on behalf of canines everywhere…

In his latest newsletter, June 2009, veterinarian Dr. Stephen Blake has some strong words to say about using these pesticides on us pets: Read the rest

What are probiotics? »

And why should you care? Well, they are the friendly intestinal flora we all need to be healthy – humans and dogs alike. movie_star2The problem is today, most veterinarians are going to prescribe one of the main things that destroy friendly intestinal flora, antibiotics. Do you see the similarity in these two- ANTI-biotics and PRO-biotics? Well anti means against and pro means for. You probably already know that. But what about biotics? What does that mean? It means life.

Here is a great article that it explains probiotics very nicely by naturopathic doctor, Dr. Edward Group (he’s on the advisory board of HolisticOption.com with my mom): Read the rest

I’m Albert, I’m Rollo – Naturally Reared Puppies! »

cutest_dog_everWhen my human saw the photo of these two cute little guys the cartoon Chip ‘N’ Dale came to mind hehe. Albert and Rollo are Boston Terrier pups, that live with our friend and my mom’s colleague, Dr. Jeannie Thomason. Albert_and_Rollo

One of the first things my human noticed about these little guys besides the super shiny coats, is the total overall structural substance of these two naturally reared little guys. Already at six weeks they show so much more substance to their structures than most kibble-fed puppies. And not only that, but their parents and grandparents have been naturally reared too, WOOF! So they don’t have all those toxic chemicals and kibble poop in them like other dogs. Each generation gets closer and closer to purity of genes! Read the rest

Dogs Are Going to Church »

thinkingboutthings2Okay so it’s the weekend and I’m giving you a break from my REAL news – which so many people don’t seem to want to hear these days. All you folks want is the cutesy, feel good, animal stuff. But I just can’t do that. Love involves truth, WOOF!

Today however, I am sharing some interesting truth with you all. Dogs are actually going to church. My humans always told me I couldn’t go with them bepaws only service dogs are allowed. Maybe they were afraid I’d voice an opinion hehe. I have a tendency to do just that! But I just discovered that they either weren’t telling me the truth or that this is the ONLY church that allows ANY dog to go to church: Pet Worship: Sit. Stay. Pray

Okay so now you’ve had your feel good story for the day. Just wait until you see the truly cute, feel good story I am sharing tomorrow AND the raw truth, WOOF!

Have a pawsitively tail waggin’, NATURALLY healthy day, WOOF!

Indiana Rabies Law, Delaware County – ACTION ALERT! »

oy-vey Humans are getting more and more fruitloopy – probably from all the vaccines, drugs and GREED. This has ZERO to do with our health bepaws it makes no common sense whatsoever. Oh no, this is about economics and power – the two things humans seem hellbent to strive for, WOOF! And we’re called the “beasts”. Right. It sure gives me zero confidence in veterinarians who would stoop this low not to mention a “humane” society. I think that term has been used far too liberally as it is but even more so in this case. There is nothing humane about mandating something that has been PROVEN scientifically UNhealthy for us dogs and cats. Here is the latest news from Kris Christine of the Rabies Challenge Fund:

PERMISSION TO CROSS-POST

The Muncie Delaware Humane Society (Indiana) has submitted a proposal to the County Council and Commissioners which would include imposing a tax on dogs as well as changing the county’s current 3 year rabies immunization protocol to one requiring a yearly rabies booster for all dogs and cats in order to obtain a license. Below is a copy of my letter to the county officials on behalf of The Rabies Challenge Fund opposing the proposed revision to the rabies protocol.

What You Can Do

Contact the Delaware County Council and Commissioners (contact information below) and ask them to reject the portion of the Humane Society’s proposal which would change the current 3 year rabies ordinance. Read the rest

How Cognitive Dissonance and Didactic Eclecticism Influence You and Your Dogs »

make_my_day2 This is a pretty challenging email to everyone who is balking at taking the leap of faith into true, REAL, natural dog health. Buying a packaged food that is being marketed as “natural and holistic” doesn’t make it so anymore than me standing in a garage makes me a car, WOOF! Those are just buzz words the pet food industry has latched onto to appeal to your HUMAN sense of taste while also appealing to your need for simple and convenient. But what could be more convenient than feeding the dogs you love a TRUE species appropriate RAW diet? What are YOU afraid of ruh? Bepaws it is sure is YOUR fears not ours humans! Join us my human and her colleague on their latest show on Animal Talk Naturally entitled, “Kibble is Kibble is Kibble, Naturally” this Wednesday, June 24, 2009 at 2:30 PM Eastern to learn more. And now here is email from Canine Health Concernwe hope it provokes you to action:

This lecture series is not for everyone, because it requires that you think for yourself, and it’s difficult for most people to think for themselves. Few have reached a level in their own personal development where they’ve stepped out of tribal belief – the illusions of the masses – and into personal power.

Group energy – tribal belief – moves slowly. If you’re still adhering to group thoughts and beliefs, then you’re wearing leaded boots and you’ll be years behind in your thinking. Have no doubt: staying within tribal thought patterns can seriously affect your health and your dog’s health. You’ll be waiting for the people who do your thinking for you to evolve before you can evolve in their shadows. Read the rest

Toxic pet food case »

wanna_go_outI’m sure no one has forgotten the horrific 2007 pet food recall and if you have, you ought not. Kibble is kibble is kibble and it will never be safe. I hope you know that by now humans as it was never intended for true dog health, but rather as a way to profit off of the human food waste. And any amount of fancy packaging doesn’t change that fact.

Anyway, the people involved in making this particular batch of food more toxic have plead guilty. I just wonder when the pet food industry is going to plead guilty for selling people packages of waste material and calling it “scientifically sound FOOD” (what an oxymoron) for us dogs and cats, sigh. Here’s the news:

The Dog Song »

tell_meOh this is pawsome -- a whole video singing about us dogs, WOOF! The song was written specifically for this slide-show of the pawsome dog art by Nancy Shutt (whom I’ve featured here on Bark N Blog before by the way) by a talented young singer/songwriter, Emily Westman. As Nancy says, the song will definitely put a skip in your step and have you whistling all day.

One of my Mom’s favorite pieces by Nancy is the one where all you can see is the table, the food on the table, the light above the table, the dog’s tail and his ears, hehe. He’s waiting for his opportunity WOOF! I think my Mom likes that one bepaws I’m that kind of dog hehe. BUT I NEVER steal food, bepaws I know that’s not nice. Here’s the video -- enjoy the song and the art, WOOF!

The truth about annual pet vaccinations »

mysteryI bet you all think that it is a MUST to vaccinate yearly in order for us pets to be “protected” against all those dangerous vaccines, etc. right? Well, nothing could be further from the truth and you may be surprised to learn that there really isn’t any scientific evidence to prove the efficacy of vaccines. No, it is purely motivated by economics. Plain and simple and sure isn’t about health, WOOF! So I want to share a few facts with you so you can make much better, informed decisions for YOUR pets rather than relying on those who have a VERY vested interest in seeing you obtain annual vaccinations for your pets. I hope you’ll join us on Animal Talk Naturally at 2:30 PM ET TODAY, June 17, 2009, to hear Part 3 on the Dangers of Vaccines with holistic veterinarian, Dr. Patricia Jordan.

Annual pet vaccines do not booster immunity. Giving them again after successful immunization is not a good idea.
http://evidencebasedvet.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=65&highlight=schultz injection_small

There is no known scientific value revaccinating adult dogs and cats once they have had one or two vaccines given as kittens or pups when the vaccine is given at the proper time so that immunity is produced from vaccination. http://evidencebasedvet.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=65

One or two rabies vaccination is all a dog or cat needs (at most):

Colloidal/ionic silver: a natural approach for bacterial, fungal and other infections »

shadrach_and_the_big_ball2CS or colloidal silver (or you can also use ionic silver) is a staple in my home and I’m REALLY glad. Let me tell you why I prefer this to the standard course of antibiotics…

As a yearling (I know I’m a dog but since that term is cool enough for horses it’s cool enough for Big Dogs too, WOOF!), I got VERY sick from a course of antibiotics for a so-called idiopathic skin condition (that means the doctor doesn’t know what it is) that landed me in the animal emergency hospital. They were mean to me (should have seen my backside covered in poop & a hugely swollen leg where they put the catheter) and I was sicker than ever afterward. Read the rest
